I have recently come across 2 table tops at an estate sale made of 1.5 inch walnut in a butcher block pattern. The previous owner was a craftsman. My initial thoughts were to use them for a workbench. But I feel they aren’t thick enough. They are each 39×39. My initial thought was halving one and placing them end to end. Then laminating them to 1.5 thick stock. Any thoughts?
